The seasoned goalie has recorded 12 clean sheets in the current 2024–25 Ghana Premier League season, demonstrating exceptional form.
He received his first call-up to the senior national squad for the 2026 World Cup qualifiers against Madagascar and Chad as a result of his outstanding performances. Asare, 32, made a spectacular case for his selection by maintaining clean sheets in both games as Ghana won 5-0 against Chad and 3-0 against Madagascar.
The former Great Olympics goalie talked about his accomplishments and stressed the value of hard work and the correct mindset.
"The key to success as a player is hard work—mental toughness, preparation, and conditioning. You have to be aggressive about it because you can't succeed as a football player without these things," he stated.
He also attributed his confidence boost to the friendly environment at camp, especially the elder players' encouragement.
"Everyone welcomed me with open arms as soon as I walked into camp, which inspired me to work even harder," he stated.
"A special thank you to Jordan Ayew—he never stopped encouraging me and telling me that I could succeed even though I'm a local player," he continued.
Asare has demonstrated that local league talent can excel on the global scene with performances that have garnered national acclaim.

The goalie, who is still making an impression, will be keen to protect his spot in the squad when the Black Stars play in a four-nation competition in June. Matchdays seven and eight will then be critical World Cup qualifiers against Chad and Mali.
