Ghanaian dancehall and reggae musician Jah Lead has rekindled his fight with music producer JMJ, claiming that the latter has blocked his song from streaming services and withheld the money he earned from it.
A song that Jah Lead made for JMJ's Riddim of the Gods project was unjustly removed from his Audiomack account, he said in an interview with Andy Dosty on Daybreak Hitz.
JMJ and I had a problem. That problem with him persists to this day. Because he played the beats for a song I wrote, it was blocked on my Audiomack. The song's legitimate owner or copyright holder has given permission for it to be prohibited," he said.
"After conducting my research, I discovered that he had submitted the work to Boomplay, along with his other songs on the album, and received payment," he said.
Jah Lead was irritated when asked if the problem could be fixed, claiming that JMJ has not been willing to speak with him.
He remarked, "I believe he has become more egoistic, not responding to communication."
He then threatened to physically confront JMJ as part of his warning.
He's my age buddy, so he shouldn't dare assume he's older than me. I'll speak to him like an old friend because of this. I promised to meet him on the street and give him a severe beating when the time came. He said, "I want people to talk about it because I'll face him like a man."
Jah Lead, meantime, claims that his new song, Hand of Jah, gives him the freedom to express himself.
The 2020 release of JMJ's Riddim of the Gods project included his song "Lonely."
