This project is the outcome of an inspiring collaboration between the United Nations (UN) Family in Ghana, led by the Joint United Nations Programme on HIV and AIDS (UNAIDS), Image Bureau, April Communications, and Joy FM.
The goal of the show is to use theater as a vehicle for social change. "Beyond the Walls," which was written by George Quaye and directed by Naa Ashorkor, examines the lives of inmates and ex-offenders while illuminating issues of stigma, atonement, and reintegration into society.The performance is much more than just amusement; it is a call to action, urging viewers to reconsider how society views incarceration and the challenges faced by formerly incarcerated individuals as they seek a second opportunity.
